Welcome to the Seafarers Hospital Society
The Seafarers Hospital Society is a maritime charity dedicated to meeting the health, welfare and advice needs of seafarers of any nationality based in the United Kingdom.
We’ve been looking after the health and welfare of seafarers and their families for 200 years. We do this through the provision of health and welfare grants to seafarers and their dependants, and to the maritime organisations that care for them. We also support a number of other services solely for seafarers.
If you are, or ever have been, a merchant seafarer or professional fisher, we’re here to help you and the people who depend on you. Our funding of the Seafarers’ Advice & Information Line (SAIL) also provides support to Royal Navy and Royal Marine personnel.
